Swadlincote Festival of TRANSPORT 2024

A festival celebrating cars and transportation held in the small South Derbyshire Town of Swadlincote. It's dedicated to all things motor related and celebrate cars from all periods of time of all different types and specialities.  From SUV and saloons to race cars, tractors and trucks, there will be vehicles for all motor enthusiasts to look at. 

The Festival raises money for good  local charitable causes throughout South Derbyshire.  It is also for auto enthusiasts to look at cars and other vehicles.  The Charity is a grant giving charity and offers grants to many other charities. Other Charities may be raising money at th festival through bucket collections, stalls and tombolas as well as many other exciting events on the day.,

If you're a petrol head, you get to see the creme de la creme of the motor industry. We welcome vehicles from all  vehicle enthusiasts from across the country to join with us and celebrate the motor industry. Families can enjoy the rides and attractions on offer at the  festival. It is fun for everyone. There will be various stalls dedicated to auto memorabilia, cakes and drinks. There will be various fairground rides such as hook a duck stalls and many other small fun rides for kids such as the spinning  teapots. 

There will also be a small train.

We are aiming to hold the next festival on the 12th May 2024  in Swadlincote Town Centre. To enter a car for judging £5.00 per vehicle. An array of awards to be won 9 classes over 30 Trophies to be won. Please call or text to book in Tel 07850 666125.  

If you are entering the festival on foot, it is free for all people to attend. There are various public transport options for getting to the festival including regular busses into Swadlincote from Burton, Derby, Ashby and Leicester. However, please note that members of the public attending by car may find car parking options limited due to the bus station car park being closed for the event where various displays of heavy vehicles such as trucks and tractors will be on display. 

You do not have to be a member of a classic car club to come to the Festival of Transport. We welcome all forms of road transportation from heritage vehicles to the golden age of motoring up to  the new and exciting hybrid era, all vehicles are welcome, and enthusiasts and their knowledge of their beloved machines are welcome to enjoy a fun and friendly atmosphere where you can amongst fellow enthusiasts and show your beautiful machine off to the general public. 

Good Question. Whilst you can turn up on the day, spaces are limited and are served on a first come first served basis. The only guaranteed way to secure a space is pre-booking. You will be the upfront fee for the car which includes the driver of £5. If you wish to bring with you additional passengers, you can also pay for them up front for one additional pound per passenger. If you wish to pay by card, use the QR code at the bottom of the booking form to take you to process your payment. However, the booking form must be returned to us by the email given below. If your form is not returned to us by 24hrs before before the event, we cannot guarantee your entry to show. You can also pay on the day, however, this must be made clear to the Marshalls upon entry to the event. 

Once registered, you can choose to participate in the various competitions: These include but are not limited to:

• Best Heritage Car
• Best Motorcycle 
• Best Commercial Vehicle 
• Best Modern Car
• Car of the show

If your car wins, you'll get a trophy, The Car of the Show is unique and you will get a unique reward as well as the trophy. Further details to be announced further. 

The Swadlincote Festival of Transport (SFOT) is a non-profit grant giving charity in so which all proceeds from the event goes towards distribution of grants to local causes. As such we are highly reliant on the goodwill of local companies to help fund large aspects of the event such as the medical cover, fire equipment, advertising and rewards we give to the winners of the various auto related competitions. As such SFOT is grateful for all money given freely in advance to fund the event. On this form, you can help us fund the event, donating money for specific aspects of the project. What are the benefits you may ask? Well, first your company will be promoted, their logo added to our flyers and website to promote their engagement with the project. Our events usually attract a diverse group of people from the across the country and they like to seek out new and original wares to buy and sell. Not just auto jumble, but also stalls unique pottery, object d'art, models, unique clothing and varied cuisine and sugary treats to take away. We attract over 200 exhibitors and over a 1000 visitors during the day. If you would like to have a stall but do not want to commit yourself to  sponsorship, then fill out the form the below. Pricing for each style of stand is displayed on the form. If your organisation is a registered charity, you will get favourable rates.
